Dabs.com, part of the Dabs group, was founded in 1987 by David Atherton and Bruce Smith.  The name of the company comes is the combination of the initials of both of  their names.  From 1990 Dabs was completely owned  by David Atherton, until it was sold to BT PLC in April 2006. 

Few realise that Dabs is a BT company.   The company is run from their state-of-the-art HQ in Westhoughton and processes, on average,  over 5,000 orders every day and attracts million of visitors to the website every month.
