The What Consumer Approved Trader scheme has been set-up to give web users the confidence to shop online and to improve sales for our members.  All Approved Trader have to comply with the What Consumer Code of Practice.

Written confirmation of this is required before we can approve your listing. 

It is important to note that it can take up to 10 working days for us to complete an initial review of your site and your listing can only go live once any issues have been addressed.

Costs

Gold: £45 per year (excl. VAT)
Platinum: £60 per year (excl. VAT)
Setup: £20 (excl. VAT)

What is the difference between Gold and Platinum Membership?

The Platinum Membership gives you much more than Gold and only costs an extra £15 per year:

1. You can use an HTML editor to make your listing more attractive as well as sending visitors to areas of your site that you are trying to promote.
2. You get 5 pages on the site to customise: The main listing page, a page for offers, a page for images, and a page for documents. This is in addition to the customer review page that is also included with the Gold Membership.  
3. You can upload two (125x125) banners that are displayed across the main section of the What Consumer site and the forum section of the site. These are great for raising brand awareness.

Are you still not convinced?

Both memberships provide you with professional membership of our consumer forum where you can blog about your business, create your own forum for your customers or just get stuck into the discussions while promoting your business in the 'signature' attached to all the messages you post.     This is currently worth £36 pounds per year (incl. VAT)    

Promoting your Website

There are a number of benefits here:

1. Our site ranks well in Goolge, Yahoo and MSN and receives about 50,000 unique visitors every month  and is continuing to grow.  (See data)
2. It is best practice to customise the meta data on your own site for every page and you can do the same for your listing i.e. create a unique Meta Title and a unique Meta Description.
3. Expand the value of your membership  by taking advantage of additional business profile customisations offered with this great value offer, including featured blogs, banners,  signature advertising, and direct visitors straight to key pages of your website.
