As Britain gears up for a summer of festivals and fun, con artists gear up for a summer of online fraud

E-Victims.Org, Britain's most comprehensive site offering advice to victims of e-crime, has issued a warning to concert goers about festival scams.  Jennifer Perry, managing director of E-Victims.Org, says: "Festival and concert ticket scams are easy money for criminals who set-up sophisticated websites often with seating plans, sponsor logos and adverts, which look legitimate. Unfortunately, victims are often young people who aren't savvy buyers or simply are not sceptical enough when they are offered sold out tickets at cut price."

Delayed Tickets Scam

In this scam, criminals target concert and festival goers because the system gives them time to commit the scam. Legitimate concert and festival ticket sellers often delay sending tickets out until a few weeks prior to the event and criminals claim that they are going to do the same.
