Dishwasher upper spray arm - cannot remove

We purchased a Zanussi Electrolux dishwasher just over a couple of years ago.

Nice machine, works very well, was not expensive at all.
But one fault in design, unlike most comparable dishwashers I have looked at since, is that the upper spray arm is not easily detached and refitted.

On most dishwashers, when food particles get into the upper spray arm (as they inevitably do), you just detach the arm, shake out the particles, and re-attach the arm - presto.

But the instruction manual on this model says never to detach the spray arm. I have contacted Zanussi customer care, and they refuse to tell me how to detach the upper arm (I confirmed I would do so at my own risk).
And yet Zanussi sell replacement arms, so there obviously must be a way !

Zanussi just say I have to call out Serviceforce, their engineering company, at some ridiculously high rate probably (I haven't bothered to check). And all the engineer will probably do is exactly what I want to do - detach the upper spray arm, shake it out, and re-attach it.

Do I have any rights to get Zanussi to divulge this information ?
