I'm getting unsolicited calls saying that they have a report that says my computer is running slow. They have called to help. It is always an Indian guy with an English name, "hi my name is Andy, William or Mike"

Sometimes, they say they are associated with Microsoft other times times it isn't clear who they are or how they know about my computer. When your computer sends a report it does not have your name and telephone number. These are really just random calls - afterall everyone has a computer these days!

These calls are coming into the UK fast and furious my 90 year old mother in-law had a call, my sister-in-law, friends - the scam is very prolific.

The scammers ask you to go to their website and ask you to look at something that shows you lots of errors to "prove" you need their help.

Then they ask that you give them permission to access your computer so they can fix it. Then they demand a payment from £25-£75.

We haven't had any reports that they have placed...
