What should I do when my web hosting company disappears? I recently paid for web hosting with a seemingly reputable hosting company Coy Media in Birmingham but now it appears that my website, along with theirs has gone down.
The owner, Kevin Coy, is uncontactable. He does not reply via any of his email addresses and his phone number - 0121 288 1668 - is answered by someone claiming not to be him.
I have recently discovered that Coy Media is in fact a reseller - they simply buy webs hosting off a reputable company and resell to end users. I have contacted them and they say that there is nothing they can do.
I have paid for a years' worth of web hosting with Coy Media. Have I been scammed? What can I do to have my site republished?
