This is a classic money mule scam. They want people to put money into their account and transfer it via wire transfer. This is illegal money. The money can be traced to you because it is your bank account but it can't be traced to the criminals because you wired transferred the money.You are left looking at a possible conviction and jail time for money laundering.
They also put through fraudulent cheques. These cheques look real. They ask that you transfer the money immediately - before the cheque has time to clear. The cheque bounces and you have lost the money you sent them and you can also incur bank charges.
Anytime an employer asks you to use your personal bank account - run away! It isn't legitimate. It isn't worth the risk.
