E-victims.org: PayPal spam adds malware to your computer

Today I received an email that looked like it was from PayPal, at least the return email address said it came from PayPal.com. However, I know that you can put any return address in an email so I looked at the header (this is the information that is sent with every email and it tells you where it was sent from).

I wasn't shocked to see it wasn't from PayPal but from someone at completely different domain not associated with PayPal and it was sent out of Switzerland.

The email says that my account needs to be updated. They ask that I download a form to do so. The form is called: PayPal-3D Secure Password html.

Criminals want you to download the form because the form will also download malware onto your system. Then they can have access to your computer and your account.

Delete all request for account update including ones that pretend to be from your bank, online store etc. Never download a form or click on a link.
