car rental damage charge - unsubstantiated

Hope someone can help.

Europcar Car Rental Damages charge.
Rented car in Spain, returned without damage, no check done by Europcar staff, charged CC for damages 505 GBP several days later.
I contacted Europcar UK asking for evidence (photos, repair shop invoice, etc), they contacted Europcar Spain.
I have only received an assertion that damage was found from Spain via UK.
I have been charged for a service I did not consume and seemingly have not been proven to have consumed.
Europcar UK have gone silent.

What can I do next?

For me this is exactly the same as Sky charging me for box office movies that they simply SAY I watched. Equally applies to Phone calls, Oyster, Store Cards. In all cases one agrees to pay for services consumed.

As I understand it the company must be able and willing to prove that you consumed the service.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, but with Avis. I am 500 GBP lighter.
Avis cust. services gone quiet. What Can I do next ????

If the rental occurred in the EU you can try the UK office of the European Consumer Centre Google for ukecc (dot) net

I have submitted my case to them. The only feedback so far is that they have sent my case on to the Spanish office of the ECC. Mind you they do this on Monday 15th November.
