broken phone and no help from my contract providers

hey i am on an 18 month contract with three mobile and im about 9 months in and the charger port in the mobile phone has fallen out, i havent damged the phone in any other way but when i went to take the charger out the port came with it and now it wont charge. i went into three mobile and they said that they arent obligated to help me until april which is the first date that i can have a free upgrade,is there any thing i can do to get them to help me sooner, as i dont have a phone and they expect me to buy a new one for £50
