What are my rights in terms of retuting goods?

I recently purchased a 2nd hand laptop from a shop in Manchester, it cost me £345.00. after using it for 20 minutes the shift and enter keys stopped working. So I took it back to the shop and they did a complete reinstall on it. when I took it home, after 20 minutes the same problem occurred.

It is now in the shop 'being fixed' but I suspect that the problem is deeper than they are willing to admit.

If they are unable to fix it am I entitled to a refund? the shop does not have any other computers that are the same so they could not offer me a replacement. I have receipts.

If they refuse to give me a refund what can I do?

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Hi there,

You are fully entitled to a full complete refund as the laptop is not of satisfactory quality when you bought it,
If it stated that this issue occurs then there would be nothing you could do,
But I'm presuming they did not tell you of this issue and so under the Sale of Goods Act you are entitled to whatever YOU wanted : Refund / repair .

If they refuse a refund then they are breaching your statutory rights and you are entitled to take legal action if you so wish .
