Hi, My names Dan and over christmas I had my basement tanked due to Anglian waters negligence and a burst water main. Me and my wife are going through money issues at the minute and are about to enter in to an IVA. While anglian water gave us some money to replace things (no where near enough!) once the money went in to my bank the bank took some for an unpaid credit card. It now leaves me with the dilemma that I owe my builder £3200 on his original bill of £7200. I have paid him £4000 already. We had agreed that I would pay him back £400 a month but upon speaking to some debt specialists this would leave us without enough to live. Please could someone give me some options? I may be able to pay him smaller amounts but I think he will get annoyed and maybe apply to the courts for the unpaid monies?
