I recieve lots of emails from fraudulent people asking me to confirm my details by clicking a link. Emails come from people who are acting as companies such as Barclays, Tiscali, Paypal etc

Has anyone ever gone through one of these links?

No...and it is quite important not to...these links can cause spyware etc to be downloaded.

Also, replying to these e-mails shows that the account is active and is opening the floodgates to even more spam (as I have found out to my cost!).

just ignore them delete them straightaway. banks do not reach you in this way
