bought a £60 dualit (supposed good make) toaster in mid january, fault appeared in mid march, contacted retailer (online purchase from catering supplier) and was told item HAD to be returned to manufacturer for repair - to take about 4 weeks. at time of contact with supplier i offered to pay extra for a different toaster but was told NO, the warranty said i HAD to have my toaster repaired. 'Sale of goods' says item faulty within 6 months of purchase is deemed to be faulty at date of purchase and repair/replacement/exchange to be offered. now 10 weeks after return but still no toaster. can i ask supplier for replacement item or to pay extra for different item as exchange? Plus, also had to spend another £20 on a toaster to keep the kids happy in the interim.
