dfs recliners

hi i bought a san remo recliner in 2009 surprise surprise one side stopped reclining about 2 months ago according to dfs my warranty is now out and to replace the motor is going to cost me to get it fixed that side of the sofa has been used very infrequently since purchase has anyone else had this problem and how did they deal with it

Hi Queeny,
Dont worry under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 you are covered. As long as this has not gone wrong by misuse the goods are not of a satisfactory quality. You have 6 years I believe. Phone up Trading Standards as I have in the past, they will tell you what to do. But DO NOT pay to get this done, this is a the fault of DFS and they have to repair it. We have a San Remo recliner that we bought in 2007 and the sofa is looking awful due to a manufacturing fault and I will be contacting DFS tomorrow asking them to recover. Good luck Louise
