Tyre Change Affected ABS

I recently had a puncture and had a second hand tyre fitted. The tyre was faulty and had a blow out on the motorway.

The tyre company replaced the faulty tyre free of charge, but once it was fitted, the ABS light came on and I found that the cable had snapped.

Does anyone know if this would have been as a direct result of replaing the tyre, or just a coincidence?

Can ABS be affected when a tyre is replaced and has anyone else suffered with a similar problem.

The tyre company have refused to repair then ABS.

You'd have to be a pretty inept fitter to snap a cable taking a wheel on then replacing it after putting a new tyre on, if you are sure the light wasn't on after the blowout I'm not sure you could prove it was the fitters.

Where is the cable broken? and how old is the car? have you spoken to a mechanic about how this is likely to have happened?
