samsung faulty tv

i bought a plasma samsung tv from amazon 14 months ago, so no longer under warranty, it keeps goin fuzzy red and then just black screen, i thought any electrical good had to be coverd for a period of 5 years from the seller??? as i had a laptop replaced with a full refund from littlewoods, can anyone confirl this or please put me striaght as amazon are usless!:eek:

A 12 month warranty is in addition to your statutory rights which are covered by the Sale of Goods Act.

One of the conditions of SOGA is that goods must be durable to make them of satisfactory quality taking into account the price and intended purpose for which the goods are to be used.

There is no defined time for the durability of a TV but it seems generally accepted that a TV would last at least 5 years from new.

You should expect a repair of the goods after 14 months free of charge

i have just contacted amazon and after using the soga act and trading standards in my words they have offerd me a full refund :)
