Cooling Off Period for on-line Holiday Booking

My daughter booked a holiday with three friends for next year paying a £200 deposit on the 2/11/12. She cannot attend the holiday and when I rang the company they basically would give me no information about the holiday and said the only way she could cancel was to get the lead person on the holiday to email them cancelling her part of the holiday and they would then tell me how much it would cost.

I am just wondering what her rights are and whether there is any cooling off period for her to cancel.
