Jewellery refund

Hi, I bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend under the proviso that it be resized and that the designers name be removed from the outside of the ring.
It was sent off to Italy and 6-7 weeks later, was returned, but was not sized correctly (though the manufacturors claim it was to the size specified, it was still different to the ring sizer at the jewellery store), but did have the designers name removed. It was sent off again for resizing and 3 weeks later was returned but this time they had re-engraved the name on the outside. My fiancee is no longer happy with the ring and the store because of the time it has taken to sort the ring out which is still an ongoing process and although the jewellers have sent it off again to have the designers name removed once more, it will not be back in time for our wedding. The store says that they do not give refunds. Are they allowed to stand by this and under my statuatory rights, am I entitled to one?
