I bought my lg plasma tv dec 2009 and it stopped working june 2012 kept clicking itself on and off after few seconds. I then paid an engineer to have it fixed the fault was the resistor which cost me £162 in total for repair and just before christmas the tv has developed the same fault again  and i don't fancy having to pay to fix it again.. after a bit of research i notice it seems to be a comman fault. can anyone help x

If you have seen a number of similar complaints, could be that this is a design or manufacturer fault which they should repair FOC. Get in touch with the original supplier and query it, they should contact the manufacturer for you, it is only for you to deal with the supplier.

Otherwise your back to the question of cost and durability, how long should a TV last? I would suggest longer than 3 years.

i feel that 3 years is not enough either but not too far away. however £162 to fix a resistor is far to much. i think you should try another tv repair shop in the future
