basically i purchased an item for 25 pounds in a clothes shop and then the next day it drops down to 15 pounds. is their anyway of getting back the ten pound difference back?

I think the only way you can get your money back is if you have proof of purchase (which doesn't have to be a till receipt) and the item is still in unopened / pristine condition. In which case you can take it back the shop for a refund.

You can then re-buy the item at the cheaper price, although I am not sure if shops have ways and means to ensure that this doesn't happen.

I don't think you can take an item in and demand a refund because it is cheaper now obviously.

Hi Jorumian,

Shops don't have to give you your money back unless the item is faulty, not as described etc unless you bought it online - then you have a seven day cooling off period.

Shops that do give refunds when you change your mind generally give you the sale price from personal experience with unwanted Christmas presents.
