Millions to celebrate New Year at home

According to the Daily Mail, millions of people will celebrate the coming of the New Year at home as freezing weather and the credit crunch bite. I guess this will be good for TV ratings.

I'm going to a party at someone's house. Does that count?

I only know of one friend who went out to the pubs for New Year. The rest of us all stayed at home and finished off what food and drink was already in the house! And it was early to bed not long after the bells as the TV was rubbish!:(
