I came across this today and while not strictly a consumer issue, it did make me smile in a good way for once.
A shopkeeper in Settle wanted boxing day off, but also realised that people would need many of the items he sold. So he opened the shop and left an honesty box. When he returned later that day he found the box with cash and the store intact with nothing missing.
