Advice on sliding doors

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some advice regarding sliding patio doors. These doors have 2 fixed panes either side of the 2 sliding doors. Sliding doors are on the inside.

Now the problem is we are getting water in to the house and it really looks like the frames have been installed inside-out.

Looking at the problem I can see that rain water runs down the doors, through the gap between door frames and into a gutter which comes into the house. Some rather crude drill holes have been smashed through the bottom of the frame to let the water out again, only it isn't going out it's finding it's way in.

Looking at the frame there a black "step" plate on the outside, draught excluder on the outside and door running rails and gutter are on the inside.

Is this correct?

Even if the frames are correct how can it be healthy and safe to have standing water in a gutter inside your home?

I'd really appreciate some advice and I have photos if that would help clarify the situation?

Regards,
