Faulty TV

Hi, I'm new to this website but need some advice on a faulty tv if anyone can help.

My sister bought a widescreen digital tv from a leading high street store around 2 years ago. It keeps developing faults and the store has sent someone out to repair it four times in the two years. She was paying monthly for cover on the tv but stopped it because they would only come out on certain times on certain days and sometimes didn't turn up.

The tv has developed another fault and she asked a technician from an independant retailer to have a look at it. The technician said that the digi box within the tv is broken and this fault should have been evident the last time it was looked at and and it should've been sent away for repair then. She didn't get this in writing but I have advised her to go back to the shop and get it on paper.

Does anyone know where she stands with regard to getting the tv repaired or replaced by the original retailer and what she should say to them?

Hope that wasn't too long :)

Thanks in advance for any help.
