HP Agreements

My brother has recently purchased a car through a HP agreement and the garage put the wrong name down on the paperwork but still alowed him to sign it. Is he still liable for the agreement and if he refuses to pay, will they take the car off him?? I know this is morally corrupt and I have tried to tell him this!!!

Hmm, interesting! I'm not sure, but I would think that the fact that your brother has signed the documents means he has entered into a contract with the company, regardless of the name that is printed on the contract. I would have thought that the company would also be able to point to corroborating evidence of your brother's intention to enter into a contract with them - eg CCTV footage of him in the showroom signing something, any proof of identity that he showed them etc. Is he really going to try to get out of it?
