I've just read an article saying that E.ON's new Fix Online V.1 tariff is a very good deal, particularly for high energy users. The V.1 bit means that this is a versioned tariff, so they will only accept a finite number of users. Once that number has been reached, either the tariff will close or they'll launch a new, probably less competitive, version. So this might be worth checking out, quickly!

We switched to Eon as the tariff we were on was over £500 a year more expensive.

However we were actually using less than half of the gas & electricity we were being billed for by British Gas.

Eon though did seem to be the cheapest for us and the fact you can earn Tesco points with them for every £ you spend is a bonus for us too.
