For a relaxing holiday, with great beaches, wine, and a fine traditional sea food flavour try the coast of Portugal south of Lisbon.
Staying in Costa da Caparica one can have the city of Lisbon within 20 minutes drive in one direction, with one of the longest and cleanest beaches in Europe at the front of the hotel in the other.

Although the weakness of the pound has made Portugal much more expensive, it almost brought me to tears last time I was there.

The only problem with Costa da Caparica is the packs of stray dogs in the evening and the wind in the evenings. Personally, I prefer Guincho to the north of Lisbon. It's a surfing beach so not ideal for kids though.

Sorry to all. I was thinking of PNG, and mixed it with another trip.
Papua New Guinea has a lot of attaction for tourists who want to see the remote areas of the world. However some areas are pretty lawless, so it is adviseable to find out local customs before wandering around on one's own.
