Cashback Credit Cards - Not For Me

I would love a cashback credit card, making all my purchases on the card to maximise the cashback and paying off my balance in full each month to avoid any charges.

The truth is, it would never happen. I would overspend, not pay the balance in full, and end up out of pocket and wishing I had never bothered. Cashback credit cards just aren’t for me, and though I have many times been tempted by the initial 5% incentive offers and thoughts of free money, I am resisting.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone has actually managed to play the cashback credit card game correctly and make money.

It's not really cashback, but I use a Tesco Credit card to get the whopping .5 in the pound. This is actually worth 2p in Tesco vouchers which can be used for a whole raft of different things. As I seem to give most of my cash to Tesco who give 1p back per pound spend it works out at 6% back in vouchers - not bad and it really adds up.
