I am really ashamed to think of the number of times I have taken clothes with a small tear or a button missing in to the dry cleaners to get repaired. I am pleased to say that I have finally bought myself a sewing kit and have every intention of doing small things like that myself. I am still keen on learning how to sew properly and might even get around to joining a class and buying a second-hand sewing machine.

Well done! Once you learn the basics there will be no stopping you! I was very lucky that my mother taught me to sew as a child and so I have always been able to run up curtains, cushion covers - even a loose cover for a sofa, and make and mend clothes. I must have saved a fortune over the years - wonder where it is?!!!
