It is good that packs are being made smaller for some classes of product from a health perspective. For example, a small fries in Mcdonalds in the UK is an extra large in Japan. And a large fries in the UK is a small in the USA.

The cost savings should be passed, or at least some of them should be passed on to the consumer.

This has always been going on. Mars bars won plaudits for being the same price for years while steadily shrinking the size of the bar....
