I recently came across Amazon's Mechanical Turk, where small jobs that people want done (called hits) are advertised, such as re-writing sentences or paragraphs, translating sentences, gathering contact information from websites and so on. Payment seems to be in the pennies, with each completed hit earning from 1p to 80p. My first impression is that it wouldn't be worth the time and effort for the payments being offered, though I would be interested to hear if anybody has any experience of earning on Amazon's Mechanical Turk or if there are other similar websites around.
