A while back I wrote about a PayPal scam targeting new users and higher value items. Well, the scammers have changed the tactics to try and increase their profits.

The scammers used to send out a forged PayPal email saying the payment had been received. So, the unsuspecting seller would then ship the item - only to find out that their PayPal account hadn't been credited.

Now they are sending out new emails to try and catch more people out. They send a series of emails trying to get you to ship the item - usually to Nigeria.

The forged email messages still use the PayPal logo but it says that they won't credit your account until you provide proof of shipping. So, they ask you to provide a tracking number to prove that the items have shipped.

If you respond to a email questioning the proceedures you get a intimidating response. They threaten to close your account unless you complete the sale!
