I have three old plastic hanging shoe organisers, each has about 24 clear plastic pockets. I have one in the garage that holds screwdrivers, nails, paint brushes etc. I have one on the wall in the storage area under the stairs which I use to store stationery items such as pens, stapler, post-it notes etc, and I have one in the bedroom, for storing costume jewellery, gloves and so on.

You are a tonic! I used to have one when I was a teenager, but I preferred to use the floor in those days. Recently a friend gave me a thing you put in your undies drawer than has 'pockets' for each pair of socks, knicks, or bra, but even that defeated my sensibility. I tend to 'regionally locate' things so I know whereabouts they are to a certain degree - e.g. when I go to the undies drawer I know socks are on the left...ish, bras to the right....ish and knicks in the middle...ish! However I have the uncanny gender-based knack of knowing to the mm. where every other family member's things are!!
