I would like to know if there are any locations where a person can hire a 16 ft hobbycat for a day's sailing, maybe a lake or somesuch which is not the open sea.
I don't know where you are so this may be too far for you but Mylor Sailing School down in Cornwall is highly recommended. A beautiful spot although it is the sea and not a lake but don't let that put you off. Hire can be by the hour, day or week I think. Have a look on their site.
