I have been experimenting with a slow cooker recently. I put the ingredients in the slow cooker in the morning and cook them on a low setting throughout the day. It can be tiresome preparing the ingredients in the morning but it's great to get home from work and the evening meal is cooked and ready to eat. Slow cookers are excellent for cooking cheaper cuts of meat, making them really tender. They also save energy, using just one pot, rather than the hob, oven, grill etc, and save on dishes too.

Yay for slow cookers!

I'm all with you on this one. Before our son was born I bought a load of chinese takeaway containers (dirt cheap) and my wife cooked up loads of batches of food to freeze.

Made eating an breeze during those first few weeks (plus insisting any visitors brought food). We still have some of it in the freezer now and he's ten months old.. should really finish it off.
