Getting to 50 is the time to figure out what are the things that a person should do that they haven't yet done.
Making a list is fun - figuring out if it is practical can be even more so. Top of my list is to do more travelling.
How do other people approach the milestone?

Exactly the same way only one decade earlier. I am definitely a list girl. I think it's a great way of sitting back and having a think about what you really want to do or how you need to try and change your life.

I think it is a good idea to have some notion of where you want to be when you hit 50. For many, this will include owning your own property, having a partner etc., perhaps being out of debt. I think it's great, however, if you've got a few of your own projects to tick off. I personally like travel and still have a list of places to visit, although I've managed to get to Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Great Wall in China and many of the European delights. I've started to eschew really dangerous sports though: takes too long to recover from injuries!
