How far would you travel to save £1.75

I was recently criticised for driving a 3-4 mile round trip to get my money out of a free ATM rather than paying the £1.75 fee at the shop that is a 2 minute walk away. I think it is perfectly reasonable to drive this distance to save £1.75 and I do hate cash machines that charge. I'd be interested to hear what others think on this.

Definitely. I understand why cash points that aren't next to a bank charge, it's actually quite expensive to keep the independent terminal stocked up (one of the places I used to manage had three), but I chose not to use them where possible.
