Change to advertised price

I thought I'd sneak in another question.

I ordered some clothes online this week from a mail order catalogue (Very, formerly Littlewoods Direct). One item was marked as having £11 off (and I took a screenshot of the webpage to prove this).

When I added it to my basket, the full price was displayed. I ordered anyway, along with some other items, and sent Very an e-mail pointing out the mistake. Their reply? It was a website error and I'd have to pay the full price.

The webpage has now been altered to show the full price, but I still have my screenshot (with date and time of order).

Is this right? Don't they have to honour the price they advertised?

Thanks for any answers you can give me.

The simple answer is no, they don't, but you are not obliged to buy it either (not that that changes your statutory rights), the law allows for mistakes, repeated instances might be a different story but ultimately the choice of whether to buy or not is yours.
