Hi all,

2 weeks ago I purchased a bathroom suite and was advised that the only item that was not currently in stock was a tap for the sink, they went on to advise that it would be ready for collection in 5 days.
A week later I called them and was told that the tap was ready for collection.

I arranged for the plumber to come around and the promptly removed my sink and bath in the main bathroom whilst I collected the tap.
I returned home to find that they had given me another bath mixer tap instead.
I then noticed that the toilet pan was cracked (glad we hadn't removed the old one).
I returned to the store and was told that the manager was going to chase up the tap and the new toilet pan should come in on the same day.
It is now ten days later and still no tap or toilet pan!

The only item of the suite I have installed is the bath.
I would love to take the suite back but then the suite won't all match.
I don't know what my choices are but the service I have been given has been pretty poor.
My bathroom is like a building site until they pull their finger out.

Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

Hi Paul,

You need to write to them stating that "time is of the essence" giving them a reasonable amount of time to complete the delivery (14 days) otherwise you will expect a full refund for breach of contract and may claim damages i.e. the cost of the plumber. the bad news is you may need to go to a Small Claims Court.

I would give Consumer Direct a call in the morning.
