Hi all,
I sought to make a complaint to the BBC recently about a particularly terrible documentary they made. So I go to the website, fill in all the boxes, write out my complaint and try to submit it. However, their system then generates a new URL with the ENTIRE complaint in it. As my complaint ran to several hundred words this meant a ludicrously long URL address and so their server denied my attempt to submit the complaint.
I then submit a fresh complaint explaining all this, and get a dumb reply telling me to submit my original complaint online. Needless to say I got a bit ratty with my response.
I also complained about this to OfCom, who told me that I could forward my original complaint about the documentary to them, but they could do nothing to ensure the BBC's system for dealing with complaints in-house actually worked.
What use are OfCom, exactly? And why do I still pay my license fee?
