I bought an N Reg Vw from a dealer in Bristol. I told the dealer i need a safe car for me and the children, he said he wouldn't intentionally sell me a bad car and if anything he would suggest a new timing belt.

I needed the car to travel from Bristol to London and then there and back again, because i was relocating, i have had the car for 2 weeks and done about 500 miles.

Now though the car has stalled a couple of times when starting up, the engine sometimes makes a funny noise, and sometimes i find it hard to go into gear 1.

What do you advise, i dont really want to drive the car all the way back to Bristol 120 miles to return it? Plus would it even be safe? Should i get the car fixed, learn from my mistakes and move on or even sell it on, what are my rights or what would you do in my situation.

I wouldn't mind but i paid £750, which i researched on the net and seemed to be a fair price, but im not made out of money and don't even know if i can afford expensive repairs.

Thanks Guys
