I hate silent calls

I hang up as soon as I hear silence for a few seconds. I then where possible search for call number and then put it in my home phone address book under "nuisance caller" and assign a ring tone and then I avoid them, this usually works but last 2 weeks every day I get a intentional call so cant do above.

I picked up phone sure enough silent call, I told them before they even got a chance to say speak I am not interested. The call was from MBNA. They didnt take know for an answer either just just said "no thanks and goodbye"

I hang up too - I can't stand these and I detest calls that use a recorded message. I go to call somebody a few minutes later and the call is still going on. Drives me mad. I know that in the past there have been calls that somehow charge you money - I don't really understand how this is possible. Can somebody reassure me that my phone bills are purely my own fault and that I don't need to worry as long as I hang up?
