The problem I have is that a laptop I sold 13 months ago has gone faulty. The laptop was sold for about £600 and sold a refurbished laptop with 12 months warranty only. (laptop is probably 18-24 months old from new)
We have sent the laptop off for diagnostics and its not repairable and is possibly a manufacturing fault, however my supplier on provided 12 months and HP don’t want to know about it.
So far the diagnostics have cost me approx £55 but its not repairable, the customer stated from the outset that “under sales of goods act” the machines fault is my responsibility.
If the unit was new I would understand and I would be able to approach the manufacturer however as it was sold as refurbished laptop where do I stand?
We’ve had the laptop for 2 weeks now while its been investigated by a low level engineer so I’m running out of time to decide what to do.
Many thanks
