Horrible

This is a horrible situation really. Families like to book early to get a decent price, but you then worry that these companies are going to go under and leave you high and dry. It's hard to know what to do in such circumstances.

I guess the only advice is, if you book, make sure you are ATOL protected, use a credit card to pay if you can, and have a back up holiday plan just incase the worst happens.

It is worth mentioning that you don't have to pay for the full amount on your credit card to be protected. It can be any proportion as long as the total cost is more than £100 and less than £30,000 you are covered under section 75 of the consumer credit act.
