Why does it somehow feel like the 70's/80's all over again? You would have thought that they would have learnt from the last time?
I've never quite got over the feeling that stock trading is somehow fundementally morally corrupt {sorry to any stock traders , I'm sure you're lovely. I just don't like your job!}
Anyway to justify my rantings, the way they put that much money and power in the hands of so few {like that guy they reckon can bankrupt goverments on a whim..can't remember his name} seems to be asking for trouble because who checks these guys? Especially for things like criminal records? Not to mentoin the fact that human beings are essentially falible and prone to errors of judgement.
I can also remember Barings and the thing with Nick Leeson

Speaking as a member of the caring professions , there always seems to be a great scandal when one of us mucks up followed by endless inquiries and changes but this doesn't seem to happen in the banking world, maybe it's about time it did!:mad:
