Garlic blog warns Facebook about Itune scam:

You or someone close to you has just received a new iPod from Santa and a couple of days later up pops a Facebook offer of a FREE £25 iTunes gift voucher. “I’ll have some of that you think” – everyone loves a freebie – and you follow the instructions in the invite and press “send”. You even send the group admin a message with your name and email address in it as asked. By 11:00 a.m. today 464,000 or so UK Facebook users had done this and all are now probably eagerly waiting their gift.

 But wait a minute. Some simple maths and logic says this going to cost someone over £12 million. That is Hooveresque in promotional scale and we all remember what happened to them …… the truth is this is a well timed, scam that plays on people’s trust of the iTunes brand and love of a bargain (its called social engineering).

The only gift members will get is a nasty...
