I was offered this today but turned it down. What are the statistics for identity theft fraud. The insurance was going to cost me £70 a year but I always seem to paying money out rather than getting any in. Do people think this is something worth while?

Absolutely not, you are basically insuring your bank. They are liable for most fraud unless oyu do something really silly.

That's good to know Tony. Thanks for that. It certainly feels as though I'm always coughing up for duplicate reasons but it's hard to keep tabs on all the admin, etc. I think I need to take a look at my filing system and try to keep everything up-to-date and in order. I'm sure I haven't updated my house contents insurance for example. Yet another New Year's Resolution.
