Faulty items shop refers to helpline

My son returned a laptop to PC World as a fault appeared within 2 months. He was told that as it was after 28 days he had to call a helpline who would diagnose the fault over the phone and if it could not be sorted they would arrange for it to be uplifted for checking. Are they able to do this when the shop has a repair facility in it?

Call me cynical but I'm just not sure it's that easy to diagnose a fault over the phone. Seems like a false economy in a bid to penny pinch. Anyway, good luck. I hope you get it sorted.

I am of a similar mindset. What`s the betting they say it`s a software problem?
