Continuing adventures in the housing market

So, those of you who visit these forums regularly will know that after an epic 8-month wait, I sold my flat at the end of last year. We're now ensconced in my partner's parents' house while we look for somewhere. This has the advantages that it's almost rent-free and also empty at the moment, since the parents are on holiday but has the drawbacks that it's 25 miles from our offices, meaning we have a big commute. Not forgetting that the parents will be back in just over a week, and I suspect...

Being totally honest, I find the five a day thing difficult. How on earth you get a narky six year old and a junk food obsessed four year old to willingly consume five portions of fruit and veg every day until recently, completely eluded me.

However. I discovered not only some great recipe books, which I shall be sharing in one of my future blogs, but also some pieces of information that really helped. Did you know for example that half a banana equals one of your childs five...

Lets face it. We are all tightening our belts but isn't it just a miserable way to go. We don't have more time and yet are having to cook from scratch to avoid the cost and health implications of "pre-prepared" food ,which, if you dont have prior experience of can be time consuming and expensive, not to mention difficult. Also, cutting out the luxuries completely when your a hard working mum (or dad) is frankly depressing although pretty essential at the moment.
